The Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune and the Rotary Community Corps of Chinchwad have developed extensive audio teaching materials tailored for visually impaired students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Savitribai Phule Pune University. These free resources cover crucial subjects such as English, General English, Hindi, Marathi, Psychology, History, Economics, Political Science, and Geography. Benefiting over 50 visually impaired students and supporting more than 1000 students in the Arts Faculty at Prof. Ramkrishna More College, Akurdi, Pune, the initiative includes over 2500 hours of audio recordings and the conversion of 800+ general books into accessible formats. Distributed via WhatsApp, Google Drive, CDs, and pen drives, these tools promote inclusivity and empower visually impaired students in their academic pursuits. The project also distributes audio recordings of special news articles from Sunday newspapers, ensuring students stay informed. Spearheaded by Dr. Shilpagauri Ganpule in collaboration with RCC Chinchwad, this effort underscores a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting diverse student communities within Pune's academic landscape. Additionally, a "Writers’ Club for the Visually Impaired Students" has been established to assist students in writing their answer books for university examinations, further enriching their educational experience and ensuring academic equity.
