Report: Rakhi Donation to Soldiers Date: August 7, 2024 Location: HQ 102 Infantry Brigade, Siachin Glacier Organized by: Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune, RID 3131, and Interact Club of D.I.C.'s English Medium School Introduction: On August 7, 2024, the Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune, RID 3131, in partnership with the Interact Club of D.I.C.'s English Medium School, embarked on a heartwarming initiative titled "Peace Building and Conflict Resolution – Rakhi Donation to Soldiers." This project was designed to honor and show solidarity with the soldiers stationed at HQ 102 Infantry Brigade in the challenging terrain of Siachin Glacier. Objectives: To express appreciation and support for the soldiers serving in challenging conditions. To foster a sense of patriotism and solidarity among students and the community. To promote the values of peace building and conflict resolution through meaningful gestures. To engage students in a project that enhances their understanding of national service and community involvement. Details of Donation: The project involved crafting and sending 3,200 Rakhis to the soldiers. These Rakhis were handmade by students from Deccan Institute of Commerce's English Medium School, under the supervision of their teachers—Mrs. Vishakha More, Ms. Dhanashree Patil, and Tehaseen Mulla. The Rakhis were carefully packaged and sent to HQ 102 Infantry Brigade, where they were presented to the soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel Naveen Kumar Daag. Teacher Guidance: The students were guided by their teachers, who provided oversight and support throughout the crafting process. Interactor Participation: 32 Interactors from Interact Club of D.I.C.'s English Medium School played a crucial role in organizing, coordinating, and ensuring the smooth execution of the donation process. Impact: The Rakhi donation project had a profound impact on both the soldiers and the participating students: Soldiers' Morale: The soldiers expressed deep appreciation for the thoughtful gesture, which significantly boosted their morale and strengthened their connection with the civilian community. Student Engagement: The project enhanced students' sense of patriotism and civic responsibility, providing them with a meaningful understanding of national service. Community Bonding: The initiative strengthened the bond between the local community and the armed forces, promoting a culture of respect and solidarity.
