Harsha Joshi The Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune successfully conducted an Anemia Awareness Programme on 12th September 2024 at D.I.C.'s English Medium School. The initiative aimed to educate students and staff about anemia, its causes, symptoms, and preventive measures, reflecting the club’s commitment to community health under the Avenue of Disease Prevention and Treatment. Overview of the Programme: The event began with introductory remarks by Rtn. Harsha Joshi, who emphasized the importance of understanding anemia, particularly among young individuals. She highlighted the prevalence of the condition and its potential impact on academic performance and overall well-being. Following her introduction, Dr. Shah, a renowned expert in hematology, delivered an engaging presentation. He discussed various aspects of anemia, including: Types and Causes: Dr. Shah explained the different types of anemia, with a focus on nutritional deficiencies, particularly iron deficiency, which is common among adolescents. Symptoms and Diagnosis: He outlined the key symptoms of anemia and the importance of early diagnosis. Prevention and Management: The speaker shared valuable information on dietary choices, highlighting foods rich in iron and other essential nutrients. He also discussed the role of supplements when necessary and encouraged regular health check-ups. With a total of 1748 students and 78 staff members in attendance, the programme successfully reached a large audience, fostering greater awareness and understanding of anemia.
