Harsha Joshi On 7th August 2024, the Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune successfully conducted a General Health Check-up Camp at D.I.C.'s English Medium School. The initiative aimed to promote overall health awareness, preventive care, and early detection of health issues among students aged 10 to 16 years, demonstrating the club's commitment to community health. Objectives of the Camp: The primary aims of the General Health Check-up Camp were: Awareness: Educating students about general health practices and the importance of regular health check-ups. Prevention: Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices to prevent common health issues. Screening and Treatment: Conducting health screenings to identify any underlying health conditions and providing necessary support. Overview of the Programme: The event commenced with an introduction by President Rtn. Harsha Joshi, who highlighted the significance of proactive health management among adolescents. She emphasized that understanding health issues and maintaining well-being is crucial for the overall development and academic success of students. A team of healthcare professionals, including Dr. Shah, provided valuable insights into general health practices. Key topics covered included: Understanding Health: An overview of common health issues affecting adolescents, including nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle-related conditions. Symptoms and Risks: Discussion on identifying symptoms of common health problems and the risks associated with neglecting them. Healthy Practices: Recommendations on dietary choices, exercise, and mental well-being, encouraging students to adopt healthy habits. Health Screening and Support: Following the informative session, students participated in comprehensive health screenings. Various health parameters, including weight, height, and hemoglobin levels, were measured. Those identified with health concerns received guidance and necessary support. A total of 1748 students and 78 staff members actively participated in the camp, showcasing strong community engagement. Future Follow-Up: As part of the initiative, follow-up health screenings are scheduled for November 2024 to assess the health improvements and ensure continued support for the students. Conclusion: The General Health Check-up Camp marked a significant step in promoting health awareness and education among adolescents. The collaborative effort of the Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune and D.I.C.'s English Medium School laid a foundation for healthier future generations.
